A Message from the Principal
Hello Hopkins Families,
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade students have successfully completed their ELA state assessments, and we are incredibly proud of the effort and dedication they demonstrated throughout the process. I am confident they will carry that same commitment into their remaining assessments. Their hard work—alongside the dedication of our staff—has not gone unnoticed. Third, fourth and fifth grade students should have headphones for the math and science portions of the test. Please check with your child to make sure they have headphones to use with their school device.
As a reminder, Mentor Schools aligns our attendance policies with the state of Ohio guidelines and requirements. As part of our policy, all families will receive a bi-monthly emails tracking the attendance rates for your information. The percentage shared in this email contains all absences: excused, pre-arranged, and unexcused absences. Regardless of the reasons for absences, anything above 10% is considered chronically absent and we would ask families (taking into account what is within their control) to ensure that students are present as much as possible and at school more than 90% of the school year.
Kindergarten registration and the annual update are available in the Parent Portal in Infinte Campus for the 2026-2027 school year. It is very helpful in our school planning to complete the annual update as soon as possible.
We have recently had some issues with traffic during parent pick-up and drop-off on Hopkins Road. Please remember that cars leaving the parking lot may only turn right in order to keep traffic flowing.
We are excited for this last stretch of the school year. There are many fun celebrations and activities planned for May. Please remember if you are planning to volunteer, a background check must be completed. For those planning ahead for next year, Background checks for the 2026-2027 school year can be completed over the summer.
We are so grateful for the support of our Hopkins’ families and hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend.
