A Message from the Principal
Hopkins Families,
I hope you enjoyed your holiday season with family and friends. We are back in full swing here at Hopkins! Students have jumped right back in with the winter iReady benchmark assessments in reading taking place this week. Results will be shared with families once all the benchmarking is complete. Next week our 5th grade student Ambassadors will be visiting classrooms to discuss the topic of empathy, helping to build Hopkins into a more safe, kind, respectful and responsible community
This morning teachers completed theoretical safety drill discussions with their students. This is an important opportunity to review procedures in the event of a school emergency. Feel free to discuss these topics with your child at home.
This week, our third, fourth and fifth graders took a written spelling assessment to determine who would compete in the school spelling bee. Our grade level spell-downs were held yesterday and I am pleased to announce the winners! Congratulations to the following winners and alternates who will be invited to attend the District Spelling Bee on January 20th at 7:00 PM at Memorial Middle School.
3rd Grade: Henry Hurrell (winner) & Noah Mayo (alternate)
4th Grade: Charlie Urban (winner) & Allison Stevens (alternate)
5th Grade: Ella Riley (winner) & Kiera Johnson (alternate)
It has been a pleasure to have our students and staff back into the building and I am looking forward to a great start to 2026 here at Hopkins. Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
