A Message from the Principal

Hello Hopkins Families,

It’s hard to believe we have already completed our third week of school! Despite some crazy weather this week, our students and staff have continued to settle into routines and make Hopkins a great place to learn. I hope everyone has a chance to enjoy the long Labor Day weekend—and stays cool and dry!

Our students have now completed their i-Ready Reading and Math Diagnostic Assessments. Teachers will use this information, along with what they are seeing in the classroom each day, to help guide instruction and support student needs. Individual i-Ready results will be shared with families during Parent-Teacher Conferences in October.

As we move into September, we are excited to really get into our groove—building knowledge as we dive deeper into our curriculum and building friendships and connections throughout our school community.

A few important dates to keep on your radar:

Picture Day – September 18: Picture Day has been rescheduled for Friday, September 18, due to this week’s heat-related school cancellations.

Start With Hello Week – September 14–18: We’ll spend the week focusing on kindness, making new friends, including others, and reaching out to those around us. Be sure to check out the attached flyer for our special theme days. We may make adjustments to Friday for picture day. We hope all of our Hornets will join in the fun!

Thank you for a great first three weeks and for your continued partnership. Enjoy the long weekend, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back ready for another great week of learning!

Sincerely,

Anna Pavkov, Principal[email protected]440-255-6179
