Fill the Fine Arts Center: Important Parent Presentation on Online Safety

Dear Mentor Schools Parents and Guardians,

We want to strongly encourage ALL parents and guardians — from Kindergarten through Grade 12 — to attend our upcoming Online Safety Presentation with nationally recognized expert Jesse Weinberger on Thursday, November 20, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Mentor High School Fine Arts Center.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Our district administrative team will be in the lobby to welcome you with light refreshments and casual conversation before the presentation begins. It’s a great opportunity to connect with district leaders and fellow parents before diving into this important topic together.

Over the past two weeks, Jesse has spoken with our secondary students about real-world online challenges — everything from social media pressure to risky behaviors and online exploitation. At the parent presentation, she will share anonymized data collected directly from Mentor students, offering an honest, eye-opening look at what kids in our own community are experiencing online.

Even if your child did not attend one of the student sessions, this event is still for you! Please note, this is an adults-only event due to the nature of the discussion. Here is a flyer with more information from Jesse Weinberger.

We hope you’ll make plans to join us for this timely and important presentation. Together, we can take proactive steps to keep our children safe, supported, and informed — both in person and online.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, November 20th at the Fine Arts Center! Thank you for your continued support of Mentor Schools.

Sincerely,
Craig Heath
Superintendent
